All ads must be linked to an advertiser—basically, the responsible party for the content of that advertisement. When you create an advertiser, all campaign audiences and creative files will link to that particular advertiser.
If you are a candidate or cause committee, this is your official organization name, such as The Committee to Elect Reese Davis or Friends of Jamie Monroe. This will likely be the same name you have used to register with the appropriate election authority (whether the FEC or a state/local agency).
If you are an organization running ads on behalf of yourself, this is likely the official name of your organization that you used when your organization was created. It may be something like Citizens for a Brighter Future or the Community Improvement PAC.
If you are an organization running ads on behalf of other committees or organizations (as permissible under applicable law), or if you have multiple legal entities (such as a 501c3, a 501c4, a 527 PAC or state-based IECs) you will need to set up a separate advertiser for each "Paid for by" disclaimer you intend to use.
If you are an agency setting up ads on behalf of clients, you must set up a separate advertiser for each client, candidate, or cause on whose behalf you are running ads. Each advertiser must reflect the end-user on the "Paid for by" disclaimer on the advertisements and click-through page.
If you are a business running ads in a regulated vertical your advertiser account must match what is on file with your applicable regulatory body (state or federal).
